Head of research appointed at Prudential Portfolio Management Group Ltd

The Prudential Portfolio Management Group Limited (PPMG) has appointed David Shairp to its senior team in a newly created role as head of research.

With 30 years of experience in fund management and investment banking, David will be responsible for managing and developing Prudential's research and asset allocation process.

He joins a team of over 50 economists, investment strategists, analysts and mathematicians at PPMG, an asset management business that controls over £155.2 billion of Prudential's investments.

Commenting on the appointment, Al Denholm, chief executive of PPMG, said:

David Shairp, head of research, said:

PPMG is the 'manager of managers' for the Prudential Group in the UK and is responsible for managing Prudential UK's fund ranges, including its With-Profits Fund which, at £76.7 billion3, is one of the largest in the UK.
