PRUDENCE BOND (INITIAL CHARGE OPTION - VERSION 1)
Switching
The minimum partial switch is £500.
Minimum remaining balance of Fund is £500 after switch, or zero.
Currently, first 2 switches are free per policy year.
£25 charge for subsequent switches in policy year.
All switches are on a "Bid to Bid" basis.
As all Bonds are split into not more than 20 identical Policies, switches will apply by cancelling an equal number of units across all Policies.
MVR may apply on switches out of the With-Profits Fund.
Prudential reserve the right to defer switching or encashment of units from a Unit-Linked Fund other than for a payment of a death benefit for up to 1 month, except for the Property Fund where deferment period may be up to 6 months to allow sale of property (if necessary).
Programmed Switching
This facility is only available at the outset and cannot be applied to Top Ups.
Programmed switching allows clients to gradually switch from one fund to another over a specified period.
"Pound Cost Averaging"
The purpose of programmed switching is to average out the cost of the units over a specified period.
Initial investment can be in any Fund except the With-Profits Fund and the Property Fund, but will usually be in the Cash Fund.
More than one fund can be chosen.
Minimum switching period is 3 months. Maximum switching period is 24 months.
Amount switched each month can be specified as a fraction of units allocated initially or a fixed cash sum.
Minimum amount specified must be at least £50 per month into each fund used.
Programmed switching is free as long as it is utilised for at least 3 months. Once suspended it may not be reinstated.
