Flexible Life Plan

Flexible Life Plan is a regular premium whole of life plan with a number of added options and facilities.

Thanks to Prudential International's location in Dublin, the underlying funds benefit from gross roll-up - no tax is paid on them as they grow, apart from withholding tax. As a result, premiums may be lower than for a comparable UK-based plan.

Flexible Life Plan's features include:

  • Choice of cover:
    • single or joint life (first or second death) basis
    • standard or maximum cover
  • Special event options - to increase cover without medical evidence:
    • on marriage or civil partnership
    • on childbirth or adoption
  • Automatic increase options - cover increasing by:
    • 5% a year, or
    • the higher of the increase in the UK Average Weekly Earnings Index and 7.5% a year
  • Choice of investment funds:
    • up to 10 funds can be chosen at a time
    • 20 free switches a year
  • Currency options:
    • for premium payments
    • for the death benefit

Flexible Life Plan has regular reviews to help ensure that cover can be maintained. These will normally occur after ten years and then every five years. At any review we may suggest that the investor increases premiums or reduces the level of cover. If they choose to do neither, cover may eventually stop if the plan value is too small to support it.
