Overview

About the Prudential Risk Managed Open Ended Investment Company funds

These funds could provide your clients with a good way to help boost their purchasing power and build up their own portfolio of investments. 

  • OEIC funds pool investments with that of other investors and may allow your client to access asset types which may otherwise be difficult to invest in.
  • Investing in the Prudential Risk Managed range could offer the potential for long-term capital growth, income or a mixture of both.
  • No Capital Gains Tax is paid by the fund on any gains made by investments held within the fund.
  • Your client can invest in up to 10 funds from the range, covering different levels of potential risk and return. They can invest in one or more funds to suit their own needs and appetite for risk, creating a mix which they are comfortable with.

Contributions & withdrawals

Initial contribution (per fund)

  • Lump sum of £500 or more, or
  • From £50 a month.

Additional investment (per existing fund holding)

  • Minimum lump sum of £250 or more, or
  • By increasing the direct debit payments by £5 each month.

Withdrawals

  • Minimum partial withdrawals of £250 each time
  • Minimum regular withdrawal of £50 per fund

Product features

  • The Prudential Risk Managed OEIC funds are operated by Waystone Management (UK) Limited. They are legally responsible for all servicing and administration of the funds.
  • Your client can invest in up to 10 funds from the range, each of which cover different levels of potential risk and return, to create a mix they are comfortable with. 
  • Your client can invest with as little as £500 initial investment or £50 a month. They can take partial withdrawals of £250 or more at any time and/or regular withdrawals of £50 or more per fund .

Please remember that the value of your client's investment and any income from it can go down as well as up. They may not get back the amount they put in.

Some of the documents for the OEIC Fund Range, such as application forms, servicing forms and fund information documents, are only available on the Waystone Management (UK) Limited website.

Investment options

  • Your client can choose from 10 multi-asset funds. Each is a “fund of funds”, invested in a range of underlying funds and offering a simple solution to the challenge of selecting funds and diversifying across asset types.
  • M&G Treasury & Investment Office (T&IO) recommends the asset allocation for each fund. Waystone Management (UK) Limited, as Authorised Corporate Director, ensures that these recommendations are in line with the funds’ objectives. M&G Investment Management Ltd (MAGIM), part of M&G plc, are the investment managers for the Prudential Risk Managed Funds. They make the asset allocations adjustments recommended by T&IO.

A choice of five risk-managed multi-asset collective funds each with its own risk profile, investing at least 70% in active collective investments.

  • WS Prudential Risk Managed Active 2 Fund
  • WS Prudential Risk Managed Active 3 Fund
  • WS Prudential Risk Managed Active 4 Fund
  • WS Prudential Risk Managed Active 5 Fund

Waystone Management (UK) Limited (WMUK) are responsible for all the regulatory and legal aspects of the OEIC funds. Accordingly OEIC fund names are prefixed with "WS". WMUK is not a MiFID firm and as such do not have any MiFID ex-ante and ex-post illustration disclosure responsibilities on OEIC funds held outside of the Prudential ISA. WMUK provide an EMT file on its website to assist those who do have MiFID cost and charges disclosure requirements for these funds, such as financial advisers, with their costs and charges obligations.

Charges & costs

Each Prudential Risk Managed fund has its own charges, the ongoing charge, which is taken daily from the fund and is reflected in the fund’s daily price.

You should refer to the appropriate Key Investor Information Document for more information on the cost and charges associated with each fund.

There are two main types of Adviser Charges:

  • Initial (set-up) adviser charge: agreed between you and your client as a % of initial investment; or a fixed monetary amount.
  • Ongoing Adviser Charge: agreed between you and your client as a % of total plan value or a specified monetary amount each year.

Ad hoc Adviser Charges are not available.

There are limits on the amount of adviser charges that can be taken from these funds.
 

Limits for Adviser Charging

Adviser Charge  Maximum Allowable 
Single investment Set-up Charge Lesser of 5% of the total single payment(s) included in the application and £20,000.
Regular investment Set-up Charge  5% of the regular contribution or 25% of the first 12 monthly contributions.
Ongoing Adviser Charge 1% each year of the total holdings within your client’s investor record.
